Regional Missions

Bethel Presbyterian Church is committed to supporting gospel-centered church planting and pastoral training throughout York County and the surrounding regions. We partner with leaders who are planting new congregations, mentoring future pastors, and reaching growing communities with the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Church Planters

Indian Land, South Carolina

Rev. Michael Lee & Mrs. Tricia Lee

Explosive growth is the term recently used to describe what is happening in Indian Land, South Carolina, the region just south of Charlotte, North Carolina. Like Christ, Tricia and I see the great number of people moving into this region as “sheep without a shepherd.” Our hope is to love these people with the love of Christ and share with them the only real hope that can be found in this life. In this way we will strive to plant a church where the “words of life” are shared, the people rescued from despair growing in their faith, Christ is exalted and His Church is fortified and expanding.

Michael Lee was attending Charlotte RTS obtaining his Masters of Divinity when he served as a ministerial intern at Bethel Church. After graduation, he was Bethel's Associate Pastor. Tricia was a nurse for 25 years. In 2007, the Lees accepted the call to the foreign mission field.

The Lees' last MTW mission assignment before moving back to the U.S. in 2022 was in Panama.

Bethel helps support the Lees monetarily in this regional mission and the Lees can also receive donations through MNA. Follow the link "Lees' MNA Info" below.

Dr. Dean Faulkner

Director, Charlotte Reformed Theological Seminary Center for Church Planting

Charlotte, North Carolina

Dr. Dean Faulkner

Dr. Dean Faulkner has been involved with Charlotte's Reformed Theological Seminary (RTS) Center for Church Planting since its inception in 2016, serving first as the associate director and for the past 2 years as the interim director. Ordained in the late 90s, he served in a revitalization work as his first pastorate. He was then called to plant a PCA daughter church, Church of the Redeemer, in Monroe, North Carolina in 2001. In 2016, he was called to plant his second daughter church, South CLT Presbyterian, in Charlotte.

Besides serving in many mission roles in the presbytery and the denomination, he now works as the Lead Pastor at South CLT Pres, a church he was called to plant while developing the next generation of church planting pastors at RTS Charlotte’s Center for Church Planting. Dean completed his Doctor of Ministry on Living Hope in 2021. He has a demonstrated history of work in the church, with a heart for church planting and for training younger pastors.

Bethel Presbyterian Church has maintained a longstanding connection with Dean Faulkner during his years at Reformed Theological Seminary (RTS). Each year, several Bethel members, elders, and staff attend an RTS informational workshop hosted by Dean. Bethel was actively involved—both financially and prayerfully—in supporting the South Charlotte Presbyterian Church that Dean planted prior to its particularization. Now, as Dean mentors Michael Lee in the planting of Indianland Church alongside his wife Tricia, he continues to collaborate with Bethel to provide training and connect potential members to this new congregation.
